FA Cup Quarterfinals Draw: LISCR to Face Watanga


first_imgWatanga (pictured) will be looking to revenge against LISCR after they were booted out by LISCR in the first round of last year’s edition of the competition. The draw for the quarterfinals of the 2018 Liberia Football Association (LFA) Knockout Cup, also known as the FA Cup, has been held with holders LISCR FC continuing their title defense against first division counterparts Watanga FC.The draw was made yesterday, September 26, at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia. The quarterfinals of the knockout competition will kick off on Saturday, September 29, at the ATS.Watanga will be looking to revenge against LISCR after they were booted out by LISCR in the first round of last year’s edition of the competition. Watanga lost the game 2-0.LISCR advanced to the quarterfinals after eliminating Mighty Barrolle and Stages Football Club in the first and second round respectively. Opponents Watanga booked their ticket to the last eight after edging out Junior Lone Star FC and Muscat FC-two third division clubs.In other pairings, second division side FC Bea Mountain will take on first division side NPA Anchors in Saturday’s first quarterfinals match at the ATS. Bea Mountain edged out Mighty Blue Angels and Nimba United in the first and second rounds respectively to reach the quarterfinals.Lone third division side in the knockout, Paynesville FC, will have to defeat first division side Barrack Young Controllers if they ought to reach the semis for the first time.
