ACU is making its inaugural appearance in the NCAA Tournament at the Division I level. The Abilene Christian program will enter the tournament as a No. 16 seed and will travel to Waco, Texas to take on No. 1 Baylor. Tipoff against the Bears is slated for 4:30 p.m. CT Saturday, March 23 inside Ferrell Center and will be televised regionally on ESPN2, plus streamed nationwide on ESPN3.NichollsNicholls (20-11, 14-4 SLC) accepted an invite into the Women’s Basketball Invitational (WBI) where they will square off with Southern Miss, Thursday at 6 p.m. The Colonels are coming off of their first 20-win season in program history and concluded Southland regular-season play on a seven-game win streak. Head coach Dobee Plaisance and her Colonels squad enter the WBI as one of 16 teams and will play their opening round contest in Hattiesburg, Miss. at Reed Green Coliseum. Austin earned an at-large bid into the Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) after compiling a 25-6 overall record and a 16-2 mark in Southland play.
