The Croatian national tourism information system eVisitor won third place and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) award for innovation in research and technology. The winner of this subcategory was declared SEGITTUR from Spain for the project “Smart Tourism System (SIT)”, while the second place went to the organization EarthCheck from Australia for the project “Building Planning and Design Standard (BPDS)”.The award was received by the director of the CNTB’s Main Office, Kristjan Staničić, who emphasized that the eVisitor system is the only Croatian project nominated among all finalists. “In Croatia, we were very happy to receive the news of the eVisitor system’s candidacy for the UNWTO award, and this award and third place make us especially proud. The eVisitor system is a very important project for the entire Croatian tourism and we are therefore extremely glad that its quality is recognized in the world. In addition to significantly reducing the administrative work in the process of registering and deregistering tourists, the system serves as an excellent tool for further development of tourist offers and marketing and promotional activities of all users, from renters in family accommodation to travel companies and institutions. This recognition gives us additional motivation for further upgrading of the system, but also the creation of new innovative projects to make the Croatian tourist system even more successful, ” said Director Staničić, adding that the finalists were selected from 128 submitted innovative projects from 55 countries, which further indicates this great success of the Croatian Tourist Board project, which was fully developed in Croatia by Croatian experts.. “This is another recognition for Croatian tourism and proof that today Croatia is recognized as one of the leaders in the world tourism industry.”Said Stanicic.By the way, the eVisitor system is recognized outside Croatia as an excellent innovative product, and as we unofficially find out, there is great interest from several countries that would buy the entire eVisitor system or “know how” and implement it in their countries. The eVisitor system in Croatia has been in full application since 2016 and has met all expectations as a unique and central place for registration and deregistration of tourists, ie for the calculation and control of the collection of sojourn tax. The eVisitor system is an innovative platform that is free for users, maximally simplified and accessible from any location that has Internet access, which greatly facilitates all the processes offered by the system. It is certainly worth emphasizing the segment of monitoring tourist traffic, so today, thanks to the system, it is possible to monitor tourist flows in almost real time by various parameters, which provides a very detailed insight into the various structures of tourist traffic.
“My Monaco adventure lasted just a year, but brought me so much; a League title, my first France cap, a Cup final, an exceptional run in the Champions League. But above all it led me through a wonderful human adventure,” Mendy said before offering sincere and profuse thanks to just about everyone who worked with him over the last year in his farewell message to Monaco and their fans.El Loco, El Tactico and Sergeant PepAt Marseille, Mendy was pushed by ‘El Loco’ Marcelo Bielsa to take his life and his career seriously, losing weight, curtailing his sweet tooth and getting up to less high jinks off the pitch. At Monaco, he then came across Jardim whom he refers to as ‘El Tactico’, “the man who brought me on so much as a player and as a man”. ‘Sergeant Pep’ is the nickname given to Pep Guardiola by Oasis wildman singer Liam Gallagher, and few would doubt the Catalan’s ability to marshal Mendy’s talents to the next level. If you can’t beat them, buy themRaheem Sterling got behind Mendy to score City’s opener as the English side ran out 5-3 winners in February’s Champions League last-16 first leg, but the left-back was Monaco’s top-rated defender in the game. He was again the team’s standout performer at the back in the 3-1 return-leg win over City, making the assist for the second goal for Fabinho, and linking well with Falcao in a truly powerful performance that may have sown the seeds in Guardiola’s mind to sign the rampaging full-back. Paris, France | AFP | Five things on Benjamin Mendy, who signed a five-year contract to join Manchester City from Monaco on Monday to make him the world’s most expensive defender:#BlueMendy – New OrderFans of Manchester band New Order will have been tickled to see the witty #BlueMendy hashtag the world’s most expensive defender posted on a video he tweeted Monday telling City fans he’d see them soon. New Order’s breakthrough hit back in 1983 of course was the classic dance-floor tune “Blue Monday”. The group are known to be City fans too. Mendy is a big music fan himself and was the semi-official dressing room DJ at Monaco.Left wing code with FalcaoPutting aside his muscular and clinical tackling, Mendy’s surging runs down the left flank bore rich fruit for Monaco’s Colombian striker Radamel Falcao. The pair swiftly struck up a keen understanding last season. “He came to see me at the beginning of the season so we could invent a code to help me know where to place my crosses,” Mendy told French sports daily L’Equipe. ‘El Tigre’, as Falcao is known, scored 30 times from 43 games, his best haul since leaving Atletico Madrid in 2013.How to say goodbye – with charm Share on: WhatsApp
Manchester, United Kingdom | AFP | Jose Mourinho says it is vital that UEFA clamps down on Financial Fair Play infringements to level the playing field and enable Manchester United to become serious Premier League title contenders again.Mourinho’s comments appear to be aimed at Manchester City, who are the subject of an ongoing investigation by European football’s governing body into alleged FFP breaches. In November, German magazine Der Spiegel said the Premier League champions had broken rules that dictate how much money owners can put into a club, having purportedly obtained documents from the whistleblowing outlet Football Leaks.City have dismissed those reports as an “organised and clear” attempt to damage their reputation, while UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin said on Tuesday UEFA’s investigation would be concluded shortly.UEFA could ban City from next season’s Champions League in the event of discovering breaches it believes to be serious enough.Mourinho did not mention City directly but made clear he believes that United are not currently competing on even terms at the top end of the Premier League.United have not won the league since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013 and Mourinho acknowledged that he did not know how long it would be before they became champions again.“I don’t know. It depends on our evolution but also the evolution of others,” he said, speaking ahead of Saturday’s home match against bottom club Fulham.“If the ones above us keep going in same direction and if their ambition and investment is continuous, that’s one thing. Another thing is if they stop, or if the Financial Fair Play makes them stop and then we can close the gap a little bit better.”Calculations made from publicly available figures suggest that since the summer of 2016, City have spent around £527 million ($671 million) on players, while United’s outlay has been about £379 million.Asked for his thoughts on the likelihood of City being penalised by UEFA for over-spending, Mourinho said: “The world is full of suggestions and I never know if they are true or not true, and that’s not my job to analyse that.” – Lack of firepower –The United manager has acknowledged that improving on their current league position of eighth is going to be difficult because he is short of natural goalscorers.Romelu Lukaku has scored just once for United since September 15, and was left out of the starting line-up for Wednesday’s 2-2 Premier League draw at home to Arsenal, as Mourinho went with a front three of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard.Mourinho was impressed with the work ethic of all three players but suggested that none can be relied on as a regular source of goals.“They work very hard but it’s not about work,” he said. “It’s about natural qualities.“We need to score more goals. I think one thing is team dynamics, with routines adapted to the qualities of the players.“But in the end the most important thing is putting the ball in the net, and goals, points and victories.”Mourinho was reluctant to discuss publicly the reasons for Lukaku’s loss of form but said he is in regular dialogue with the striker as to how to get him back to his best.“That is something I feel comfortable to discuss with him, which I do,” he said. “I am not so comfortable to discuss with you.“I think it is quite an easy job for you to analyse a player and performances, you have knowledge, experience, eyes and data. If you mix all this information, I think you can analyse it.Share on: WhatsApp
Girls Golf Rocks! That’s the message from a group of girl golfers who want to inspire others to follow them into the sport.Twelve members of the Essex County Girls squad have been trained as leaders and mentors for the project to promote the sport with the help of four local golf clubs.Their message is that golf is a fun and sociable game, with health benefits and a competitive edge – and they want other girls to join in. Their recent photoshoot (image © Leaderboard Photography) for the campaign poster shows that golf can be anything but fuddy-duddy.The Girls Golf Rocks campaign tees off with a big taster session in April at each of the four clubs taking part – Little Channels, Crowlands Heath, Playgolf Colchester and The Rayleigh Club. Three county squad girls will be helping out at each club.Following the taster sessions, when local schoolchildren will be welcomed by the PGA professionals, there will be a four-week structured coaching programme provided by the clubs, with the county girl players mentoring the newcomers. The finale will be a competition on the par three course at Channels GC in May, where new young players will enjoy playing holes with their mentors, benefiting from their experience and encouragement on the course. The project is being led by the Golf Foundation and supported by England Golf and Active Essex.Katie Moggan, Regional Development Officer for the Golf Foundation, said: “The Essex County Girls really do deserve great credit for launching Girls’ Golf Rocks and it is very much their project. As young, athletic players who love this game, and who exhibit a great sense of fun when playing golf, you really couldn’t find better ambassadors for this sport.“In terms of breaking down the barriers for new girl golfers, these county players really ‘get it’. They know how to encourage new players and I am sure they will be excellent mentors for young people coming into these clubs.”The project will be directly linked to the national ‘This Girl Can’ promotional campaign on TV and other media (www.thisgirlcan.co.uk) which aims to inspire more women and girls to enjoy exercise. See more also on Twitter at #thisgirlgolfs.Katie praised Lauren Spray, Women and Girls Participation Manager for England Golf, Helen Tarttelin, Essex County Development Officer, Louella Hitchcock, Essex County Captain, and Wendy Cook, County Junior Girls Organiser for Essex, for their “brilliant work” in the organisation for a project which, if successful, may well be tried in other regions of the country. 23 Mar 2015 Girls Golf Rocks is set to inspire new players
