According to the Dallas Morning News ‘ Evan Grant, Patterson has signed a 2019 contract to play for the Texas Rangers after he completes his eligibility at Michigan.The Rangers drafted Patterson in the 39th round this year. He could be a first-round pick in next year’s NFL Draft if he has a strong junior season at Michigan.His future should be in football. This is just likely him hedging his bets.Patterson transferred to Michigan from Ole Miss during the winter. Due to the sanctions surrounding the Rebel program, he was granted immediate eligibility at Michigan this coming season.He will compete with redshirt sophomore Brandon Peters, redshirt freshman Dylan McCaffrey and true freshman Joe Milton to be Michigan’s starting QB this fall.Michigan opens its 2018 season at Notre Dame on Sept. 1.
